Chief Kiogima Standing Stone
Chief Kiogima Standing Stone is the most important piece I’ve created. It’s a life-size sculpture, standing 6 feet 7 inches tall, made to honor my great-great-great-grandfather.
When I made this work, I wanted to remind people that Indigenous Peoples are very much alive today—we’re here, and we’re not going anywhere. The sculpture has a powerful, almost intimidating presence. When you stand in front of it, you can really feel the strength and energy my Grandad carried.
For me, this piece is about legacy—about honoring where I come from and making sure that history, culture, and identity are seen and respected. It’s a way to connect the past with the present and to say loud and clear that Indigenous voices are still here, still strong.
