Veteran Elder

This 2-dimensional wall hanging piece was created to hold my father’s Air Force wings. I chose an eagle to represent our heritage and country as it is the fiercest flying animal. Like my dad, it is strong and resilient. When viewing this work you can feel the pride my dad has for our nation and his lineage. I chose to incorporate real eagle feathers because they are sacred in my culture and only those who are registered members of federally recognized tribes are legally allowed to own them. I wanted this piece to show my pride in my dad and everything he stands for.
